Jeff at Z1 Enterprises has posted that he won't sell any more till they fix their fit and finish issues. Word is that Vance and Hines Quality Control has gone into the toilet.

You might give Jeff at Z1 a call and see if anything has changed.

Took mine to a local muffler shop who put an expander tool in the cannister and with one quick adjustment had it fitting perfectly and with no chrome damage whatever, actually no visual difference at all, just a nice easy snug perfect fit. Took about 5 seconds. Slick as a whistle. No lube or sealant of any kind, and no leaks. All the horror stories about too tight fitment between cannister and header on V-H may result simply from the chrome plating being a little too thick.

IMO grinding sux. Would also forget about super heating cannister to fit onto frozen header, because once it cools, it becomes permanent thereby disallowing necessary fitment adjustments.

Don't worry, be happy.
