Although I believe the bolt pattern would be the same, the problem you are going to have is that the 79 650 used a kickstarter and the 80 750 does not. As to your hatred for phillips screws just pickup an impact driver from Harbor Freight. It will be the best 6 or 7 bucks you ever spent.

WharfRat I assume we are talking about your red 750 E. Just my opinion but I'd leave the paint on and just polish up the center section. I know you love shiney (as anyone who has seen your 440 can tell), but I think you are opening a can of worms trying to strip that cover, whatever type of paint Kawasaki used on engine parts seems to be really tough to get off. If you are only going be happy with a highly polished cover with no black on it, I would look at picking up a clutch cover off Ebay from a 750 LTD or a 650 CSR, neither has the hole for the kicker. You can generally find them for next to nothing and then you could keep your cover as a spare.

Yeah that paint seems pretty tough. I'll give it a shot 1st-but the E-bay option is always there. What,me like shiny?:woohoo: :woohoo: But I do want the whole thing polished.
