Anyone know if the 82 1100 Spectre Head is the same as the GPz Head?

The title asks the entyre question. I know there are some diferrences in the "j" series 1000 and 1100 heads, and that there were three diferrent cams used in these bikes, but that is about all.

Otto:

The B2 model does not have the FI ports in the head, BUT, the heads of the 1982 Spectre and 1982 GPz do have different parts numbers, suggesting a difference, which may or may not be trivial.

a couple of subtle difference's ive noted on gpz 11 heads in the past, in particular 1100a1 and a2 motors run with under bucket shims (the small ones) as oppossed to older 1100s which have the larger over bucket items. also if you go for the later type a1 or a2 cylinders and heads these do not use o ring oil seals on the outer 4 studs, so pay extra care to gasket installation or you may find your newly assembled ride has aquired a very effective leg and boot lubrication system  :)
