is it a J model? is the rotor junk?

i have two questions, i pulled the cover off of my motor to find that the magnet has been chipping away at the edge, at one point it was orange all the way around.

i'd just like to know if its still useable, can be fixed, or if i should chuck it and buy a new one.

pic very related

anybody have an opinion on the rotor, the edge of the magnet is chipping away and i don't know if its something rebuildable or it its actually harmless.

Was it hitting on the inside of the case? I am wondering why it is coming apart in the first place, and where are the pieces that came off???I am asking this because could it have been damaged while it was off the engine somehow in the past?? If it came apart at speed it will cause a awful mess inside that case, I would get another one just in case...

i found most of the chips under the rotor, its seems very fargile for some reaason, i'm just hoping none of the chunklets got to the oil pickup :s

and it did'nt hit anything on the inside, but i'll look just to make sure.
