Cam chain timing was created by Ag3NT
I had a long thread started in the Carb section, but it has evolved. The problem is my KZ750 M1, it will not start. I have spark and fuel, but no compression. I have no manual. I need to check the CAM timing to rule that out before moving on to valves and rings/pistons. Does anyone have a manual that they could maybe copy a few pages or walk me through the process of the timing?

Thanks,
Steve

I hope steell and biquetoast can help you. They own a couple of the big twins and should have a manual to help you.

I finally got a service manual from Kawasaki. I have the cam timing as close as it looks like it will get. The intake side is lined up great. The exhaust side is off by about half a link. It really looks like the chain jumped a link (the tensioner needed to be adjusted also). Is it possible for this to cause the severe lack of compression? The manual says it should be 156psi and it was only holding 30psi.

Thank you,
Steve
