Anyone know where I can get 74mm.rings for a 1135cc piston kit.I have a 76 kz 900 that sat in my barn for 22years. I got it running this summer. Now I have it apart tring to improve lost performance. The rings are not sealing properly but clearances are good(.0015").This motor had about 3500 miles on it after new pistons and rebuild,22 years ago.Now the problem is It has a 1135cc Wiesco kit,but wiesco says the pistons were likely bought as blanks by R.C. engineering and RC suplyed the rings and machined the grooves to fit.So wisco's rings are too thin too fit, and RC doesnt supply them any more and doesnt have any info on them.RC likely just bought stock rings from another aplication. So this is where you guys come in.

Does anyone know what bikes had a 74mm bore, pre 1979?Then I may be able to figure out which 1 has the right thickness rings.

My rings are:top .062" (1.57mm),second= .061"(1.55mm.),OIL .107"(2.72mm)Wiesco's are .031(.8mm), or .039"(1.mm) thick.

Also what should the ring to groove clearance be for a street rider, min.max.?

I know the easy answer is buy new 75 mm. pistons and re bore but I just cant afford that extra$1000 with all the things I need for this bike. Thanks for your help.

Total Seal makes rings but they make 500 at a time for only $800.I found the top ring and oil ring at Hastings rings, but no #2 yet.
