Need help, KZ1000 P hard starting was created by z1rick
I bought this '99 KZ1000 P, ex-cop bike w/ 42,000 miles on it. It may have set on the lot for several months befor I bought It. When I rode it home, about 60 miles, it started loosing power like it ran out of gas, it had a full tank. I switched from the full posistion to the reserve, and started it up, ran fine the rest of the way home. Rode it a couple more times, all seemed OK. Let it sit for a week, and could not start it. Draind the tank, pulled the petcock, cleaned the filter, put it all back together, started it up. Let it cool down, a couple hours, and real hard to start. Runs OK When I get it goung. Any ideas? Should I rebuild the petcock?
Thanks for the help,
Rick
