I have bought a motor out of a 1986 police bike motor is a j model i think.I was wondering if anyone knows which service manuel I need to get for this motor.Thanks

Hi,
Clymer M451 is the manual for the J. Note that there is atleast one mistake in the book. My view is the clutch adjustment method is incorrect for models with a ball and ramp clutch operating mechanism. With that the adjustment is 100% the opposite of what is advised.
Otherwise fine but what is really helpful is to print the parts book off the Kawasaki.com site

81-83 KZ1000-1100 factory service manual should work, just use the CSR specs.
They have been selling pretty cheap on eBay (~$90 new), I bought mine for $14 including shipping
