should i use any sealant at the bottom of the barrels along with the o-rings??

Nope, no need too, unless you need new rings!

1979 KZ SR650, stock candy persimmon red and crossover pipes
1981 KZ 1000LTD with non stock and more comfortable handle bars and 4 into one V&H

if you are yanking the barrel off id say spray both sides of base gasket with copper coat and let it tack up before installing it and definately use new o-rings;)
