which J model head?

Is there a year that is better than another when chosing a J model head?

most of the J heads are the same-- the 83-84 GPZ is the best. Some of the late model J heads off the police bikes are similar to the good GPZ heads but the early 81-85 J heads are the same

The CSR has a tach drive off of the exhaust cam, all others have an electric driven tach.
