kz1100 starter clutch gear

put the starter clutch back together and tightened the rotor bolt to the correct torque but noticed that the gear behind the rotor has a little sideways movement in it.correct thrust washers are in place and the bike starts fine with no rattles coming from that area.Is it normal or have I missed something ? manual says nothing?
thanks for any suggestions.

needle bearing is fine and damper also.Is there supposed be any movement or is the gear or is it supposed to be locked solid once the rotor bolt is torqued down?I reassemled this twice to make sure everything was correct according to the factory manual.
