Timing?
You can have spark, but if it not at the right time in the compression cycle, it won't run. Did you adjust the timing plate?
If you have electronic ignition, please disregard this.

Keep it simple, an engine only needs three basic things to run, compression, fuel and a spark. If you are sure you have all three then you probably don't have them all at the right time. If you don't even get
a backfire or popping then something is way off. The first thing I would do is to reference your manual and go back and check your cam timing and make sure you've referenced the cams to the proper cylinder. Good Luck, thebull

HOW ABOUT HAVING YOUR IGNITION ADVANCE UNIT OFF BY 180 DEGREES?
THIS HAPPENS ON THE 900'S. THERE IS A LITTLE PUNCH MARK THAT HAS TO GO A CERTAIN WAY. CHECK WITH A FACTORY MANUAL. THIS EXPLAINS IT.

check that you have the ignition hook up right. may have the coil wires backwards.

I second the 180 out idea, it will spark, just at the wrong time.
