Minor engine problem? was created by Scoobydo0s
I have a 82' KZ750-e3 and most of the time the engine runs fine. But every so often it seems like one of the sparkplugs isn't firing correctly and I've stalled out of nowhere or it backfires with the smell of gas. I am going to be replacing all the sparkplug wires and sparkplugs. Also might have someone look at the distributor for the bike just to make sure it's not failing. Beyond that I can't think of anything else to have done. Any other ideas as to what it might be?
I hope to mod this bike out and make it a little more sleak. Was thinking of custom building a new tail and maybe moding the seat a bit. Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks all.

Hey Scoobydo0s,
Kaws don't have distributers so you needn't go looking for one. I suggest that you're going in the correct direction when you say you're planning to replace the wires and plugs. That'd be a good first step. Also check the voltage to the primary side of the coils. Should be right up there at 12 or 12.5 volts. If it's lower than 12 volts start checking the connections back to the regulator and battery. Use some electrical contact cleaner along with a small wire brush to remove any corrosion you may find on the connections. Before reassembling them give them a little squirt of dielectric grease. It'll stave off further corrosion.
