Another ride...
16 Jul 2026 06:46
With rain forecast for the next four days, I fired up the engine today and hit the road.
"Summertiiiiiime... and the livin' is easy..."
The corn is already tall, the grain is ripe—and in some places, already harvested... Just cruising along the roads... I even had a passenger right by my left ear... but for once, the little bastard didn't sting me, so—fair is fair—I let him live after taking off my helmet.
Here some pics from this sunny-funny afternoon...

Thanks for the pics Joe. I have 4 or 5 favorite rides I take regularly, each about 45 miles long. Mostly smooth pavement, plenty of curves and hills, and not a lot of traffic. I go on one of them every day the weather allows, from April to late October. It's been very hot and humid lately but no problem for rides. Stopped at a small park yesterday, nice shade on the picnic tables.

Hey Joe! That must be where all those cute little baby sized corns come from, our corn plants in Kansas are twice as tall as those ha.

Hi Clay, that’s because there are so many motorcyclists out on the roads here—instead of just sitting in their Kansas-garages tinkering with their bikes—that the ears of corn get so spooked they stay small.

Joe, I didn't ride it for about 20 years (had a couple other bikes in between but didn't ride them much so I sold them). My friends tell me I'm going for so many rides now to make up for lost time.
I plan to keep riding this old friend until I'm no longer able...

Scotty, that sounds damn good!! Definitely keep it up! I did have a few other bikes between 2017 and 2023, but then—just like in the 35+ years prior—I absolutely had to have an old "round-tank" Z again; for me, it felt like coming home. I love these bikes—they look great and ride beautifully—and I plan to keep riding them until I physically can't anymore, or until someone shoot me off the saddle....!
Hope to see more of your riding adventures here !!!!!! Take care Scotty, and have fun!
