2 little 100 Km rides...

Here are two quick snapshots from my weekend trips:
Yesterday afternoon, with my beloved wife riding behind me, we rode through the villages along the lakes... and today, with my good friend, we rode along the dikes beside the Elbe
... the weather here is perfect. Cristal clear blue sky, 28°C  :-)

(( The blue bike right here in front belongs to my friend. It is a "Frankenstein bike"—originally born as a KZ1000 LTD, it was converted some time ago with a Z1 body kit (tank, side panels, and tailpiece) to look like a Z1. Now, however, it resembles a Z1000, featuring a completely overhauled and rebored engine. The engine—and the entire bike—run excellently! And I always enjoy it immensely whenever we have the opportunity to ride together!  )) ...Of us old buddies, not many are left—those who are still around, or who are still able to ride...

Greetings, Joe

I am so happy for you! This weekend is the unofficial start of summer, and it's been raining in my area since last Thursday.

Thanx, Kofla!
It has only been nice, warm, and sunny here for the last three days! Before that, the entire month of May here was rainy, cold (3–8°C), and very stormy!!!
This year, April has been  a lot warmer with more clear sunny days than in may....
Greetings, Joe

Another little trip:
Todays morning ,we drove to the very old bridge where my dad and I used to go fishing decades ago—still a relatively idyllic spot, though naturally, these days it sees a great deal of traffic... but the steel framework of this bridge is truly ancient.
( To the best of my knowledge, this former railway bridge is already more than 100 years old; it was first converted for vehicular traffic in 1977. During my childhood, there were only tracks on it, and everything was quite overgrown..Decades before, it would be  called  as an " lost place" in modern slang ;-).)

Stateside Joe, don't think i've seen a "riveted" still standing anymore. Persons revel in the old small length Wooden bridges but a lot of those had gotten torn down decades ago too. No room on shown bridge to pass a Mack truck ha. Take care my Friend and enjoy!!

Hi Clay,
This shown little bridge  there was a single-track railway bridge right up until the 1950s, with alternating one-way traffic... but we have a whole bunch of those riveted steel bridges around here—really massive things. I'll snap a few photos sometime when I get the chance!
Yeah, you can bet your bottom dollar that I'm enjoying my time as much as humanly possible; every minute on the bike helps me forget a whole lot of shit. ;-)
Take care, amigo!

EDIT:
I´ve found some picture from our steelbridges over the river, they are over 100 years old...

And perhaps if You find yourself on the other side of the globe, I'll have a respectable/functional tractor for you. Has a steering wheel and cuts at a blazing 10MPH, almost like Air Conditioning at that speed, crazy i know ha. Had to cut the old electric clutch off because..well i could. See Ya Soon Joe!
