A foot of the white stuff is in tomorrow's forecast for us here in eastern PA .  I have the shovels, snowblower and Tylenol and aspirin on standby.....

Winter came on quick this year and it seems to be the first "real" Winter in a long time where I am actually developing a shoveling arm.

I would love some of that snow here.  I XC ski in the winter.  We got a late start due to late snow, but finally had enough to ski by the end of Dec.  I was out 6 times in the first week of Jan, but it warmed up and then froze so the ski trails are too icy to use.  Still waiting for more snow and none in the forecast for the next 10 days.  Looks like the ski season may be over.  The good news is that I've been able to get out on my bicycle most days, although at -11C I stayed on the spinner today.

There is 20" of base on our local XC trails (in town) and 36" a couple of hours North of here. Daytime temperature here is around -14C this week.

I have not done any cross country for about 15 years but still have all my gear. In the past I cycled outdoors in Winter but only down to -6C but in the last couple of years I switched to a indoor trainer. There is nothing better than riding your mountain bike on snow covered trails when there are zero people around

The Winter outdoor riding is too time consuming, you ride slower (wind chill) and getting the gear on and off is a pain. Indoors is much easier and quicker.
