A Recent Ride
06 Sep 2025 20:03
It's almost always about the ride and rarely about the destination. I like to get out a few times a week on the bike. Usually just 50, 75 , 100 km. Enough to clear the cobwebs.
Heading out
I rarely stop for photos but on this day I had to. In truth I almost missed it.
I know it's only kilometers but time was when 100,000 on a motorcycle was a big deal. an achievement. I'm delighted to have gotten the bike across this line.
Do the maintenance,
If something breaks fix it.
Don't baby it but don't flog it either and these old rattly air cooled no frills motors can be surprising

Very nice!!! - Because bicycles are meant to be ridden! (Unfortunately, there are very few ride reports here, are most you just tinkering around?)
I also ride as often as I can, as long as my gas budget allows
, and as long as the roads are dry! All Temperatures are ideal for me, if they are above 12°C.
(I confess, I'm a "fair-weather rider"; I hate being out in the rain. I had to do it far too often on the way to work when I was younger; in my younger years, i only had a motorcycle and no car...) - It's nice to read ride reports from you guys!

Another fond memory in the bank.
Although not bike related, a few years ago my previous F150 tuned 200,000 miles on the way to work. I remember exactly where it happened. Now when passing that spot, I often find myself reminiscing about some good memory attached to that old truck.

Hi, although I've had the kz1000 only for a short time, I've also had the luck of experiencing this.
