First proper ride

Hi all, first ride since the restore, hand surgery and to test out replacement speedo (mph to kmh) Have done a 20k round trip to the beach with phone gps strapped to the bars. The speedo is totally accurate at all ranges, really good as many are off a bit off.
Also wanted to do this run today as we have rain next week then I go in for cervical fusion the week after, so won’t be able to ride for a while 😩
All good though as the bike ran beautifully, so a happy bunny.
The photo shows in the background a hill, which is called Mount Maunganui, as very famous landmark in New Zealand, this beach is awesome and has great surfing.
Rich.

Whoa and wow. That is one pretty bike. I now have a new favorite 650 color, so Bunny can go ahead and paint hers now.

Your machine looks great, it reminds me of some of my younger years.  I must admit I know little of your home, but do thank you for sharing part of your world with the rest of us.

My way of finishing-up the crimping, crude but effective. An old Z1/KZ sprocket to hold the gauge upper can/crimp ring flat, It's like it was made for it, ha. Then, without damaging the ring, just fold the folded back portion into submission.

I'm with you Clay, "it just needs to work" I made fork bush and seal tools from some old fork lowers (Kawasaki tool is £400)
