On this past Thursday, I was off work, and once my chores for the day were done, I told the wife I was gonna take a quick ride, and grab a bite for lunch...I ended up clocking a little over 300 miles, and had an awesome ride meandering through the laurel highland region of southwestern PA, I also dabbled in Maryland and West Virginia. The bike ran awesome, although my slightly rich main jetting became more than slightly rich once in the mountains. The tank bag is a dead give away i had no intentions for a short ride
here is a couple of shots I took on a local back-road, in the suburbs of Pittsburgh
After this stop I swung out through Monongahela, through Bell Vernon, and took some backroads out past Connelsville. PA711 is an awesome road, and I snapped these photos just outside of Donegal
From here I made my way over too 7-springs ski-resort, and then on my way from there to OhioPyle state park.
From here I decided that I was only an hour or so from Deep Creek lake, and who doesn't like a Honi-Burger?
It was while I was inside this particular establishment that my wife texted me, and informed me that she had made dinner plans with our friends(as they were cooking my burger). As a result, please forgive me, I didn't stop to take any photos on my um..err..expedited trip home(after the burger of course).
A positive side note, In the tuning runs leading up to this, I was getting a high speed wobble above 80mph. Before I left for this ride, I re-torqued all the suspension bolts, and the steering stem bearings. This removed all traces of wobble all the way up to an indicated 140mph.( thats where I chicken out without leathers on)

It was definitely kind of cool to get her out on some of my favorite roads and snap a few pics to share. I think I want to take it into the city and get some shots to share, perhaps even to a couple places I know of that still have that funky 70s vibe about them. It would be cool to have a few "period" shots of it.

Nice report and cool pics. Beautiful scenery around them parts. Your bike looks great--I love the green with the pin stripe. Many of the KZ900's get a repaint in solid but the pin stripe makes it look a little classier.
Be sure to get out on another ride and snap some pics.

Great pics! I haven't ridden though those hills since the mid 70s when I was going to school at PSU near Uniontown. I remember scooting through there many times on my GT380 with a ridimg buddy on his 350F. Thanks for the memories!
