TheTrout wrote: Hey! I'm in that 2008 SWOKZ pic! I still talk about that ride from time to time. I had a great time and rode my 78 kz1000 down from Michigan. I'd be up for another if you guys are still doing it. I have not been on this web site in years and the day I stop in the first post I read is this one!
KZ_Rage are you doing any of the organization?
I remember you and your bike very well indeed! Sorry for the delay as I've been doing some other riding on my Triumph of late! 1955 miles in 6 days with 2 of those in the Ozarks, some awesome roads there! That put me behind at work and just getting caught up.
I'm not involved in this one, in fact the last rally I helped organize/start was 3 years ago in Natural Bridge Ky (great twisties there). I guess it took the place of the SWOKZ.
I'm going to put Bad Juju up for sale in a week or so as well as a lot of my other bikes too. Going to go down to just one or two bikes, doing more distance riding and moto-camping is the plan. Next year I'll be at the rally I helped launch in Natural Bridge area called the Triple R or Red River Rally, you'll have to check into the GSR site for info as that is where the guy who organizes it posts the info. It's just a little further south of where we were for SWOKZ.

He has maps and can help provide you with any info you may require. They changed the name a couple of years ago to honor a fellow riders deceased wife (long story) but I went to my first one 5 years ago and it had been going on for several years before that.
Here is the link to the GSR page on the rally, you may want to consider the motel they stay at as it is cheap, clean and the owner Jay knocks himself out for the attendees. He lets them have a big area in the parking lot to have a cookout, put up awnings and set chairs out for an evening of drinks and BS'ing, has old towels for riders to use and provides a lot more.
Check out the link, it will save you a lot of time planning and second guessing routes, avoidance's and such.

The organizer that you are talking about wouldn't happen to be that Brian fella with a GS I met on the leg 2 Relay ?
I know he digs covered bridges.

second, our rides include a good bit of gravel as we ride dual sport bikes, so a good bit of re routing would be necessary to stay on track. bummer... as most interesting stuff is found off the asphalt.
i included a gpx file so you guys could have a look see, i am sure with a lil work all the gravel could be bypassed. these rides are scouted by local guys that know area very well, so they are typically pretty scenic..

Yup, Nashville, Indiana. I have ridden some of the roads in this area on down to Salem IN. Some good, some with more than their fair share of chip seal gravel. Some caution unless you are geared for off road! LOL. I have some interest if this may still happen.

Indianapolis Raceway Park august 16-18.
Camping at track and a dragrace to boot.
Been to a few since Prostar went under.
Good swap meet too.
Usually go "uptown" at night, good riding scene there.
Slippery noodle has blues bands and Braodripple has...
If I can afford it I would go again.
Three of four guys walkin around the track trippin on my bike told me about this site.
Smaller local things would be good to, maybe one for the Chicago burbs.
My bike is down right now but...
