just thought I would give evryone near Evansville Indiana (newburgh) The abate region 8 Blessing of the Bikes is the 1st Sunday in May at the newburgh locks and Dam park.

There is usually a 90-100 mile poker run through some pretty country side river ride etc...

there are usually 300-1000 bikes in and out all breeds

I havent got the details this year (didnt renew my Abate membership) but usually do the blessing all morning and the ride mormally starts at noon

I have been every year I have a bike for the last 12 years or so only been on the poker run a handful of times.

If anyone is going let me know we can make a KZ corner for the riders to oogle over LOL

We are going to our first Blessing of the bikes tomorrow at Starved Rock State park.

I'm not what you might call a spiritual person in the Christian sense but my wife is.
Even though, I always thought that if I got the bike back on the road it would be a cool thing to do.

Couldn't hurt right ?

Told all my HD ridin buddy's about it but with a chance of rain tomorrow I doubt they'll show.
No big deal I've always been kind of a loner anyways.

Well, the bike is running great and today we are taking it on it's first long ride to go visit our youngest son , about 200 miles round trip.

No rain no rain no rain......

After this weekend I think it will be time for the first oil change.

Its a real good time you will be amazed at how many bikes show up of all breeds.
I have a Buddy that used to ride an FZR it was like pulling teeth to get him to go because he believed it was a harley event and the guys would turn their nose up at him. he had such a good time last year. After selling his bike this year he is gonna ride one of his sons vintage Mopeds lol!!

im hoping the rain holds off seems like everytime i have had an oppertunity to spend the day riding with like minded people we have had bad weather

Good luck on your ride today keep it on 2 wheels

Crap, as I feared the three guys planing to go to the rally are about a half hour late and hopefully got turned around and made it home in time before the 2+" of rain we just got hit them.
I haven't heard from them yet and there is absolutely no shelter between their place and mine , that sucks.

Still planning on going to the second one at 1:30
The rain already stopped but it was quite a show for about a half hour or so.

I kept hearing couple thousand bikes throughout the morning they sold out of
shirts before we got there so i would say probably

My favorite oart was all the attention the only KZ that I saw.

If I heard 1 used to have one of those once I heard it 100 times today. it was
so cool all the guys were giving the guy I got it from a hassle he kept
telling everyone that it was his old bike :woohoo: Everyone sshut him down

had atleast 100 people stop and take pictures I eventually left the seat unlocked
from showing the conversion so many times

have 3 bikes to go look at this week couple old drag bike frames and pieces guys
want em out of their way lol

I knew I should have went! We made the call last night to stay home and work, big mistake I guess. I'm getting anxious for some seat time. Looks like a killer turnout, glad you enjoyed it!

Oh yeah, we made it.

The rain quit long enough to get it in, then it chased us home.

We had the only Kaw there, a few Honda's, one old Yamaha 650 that was in real nice shape, no Suzuki's that I could see.
Of course a lot of sharp looking HD's

It didn't look like there was near as many bikes as at your rally and we didn't know anyone but everyone was pleasant and it was a good time.

JD
