Any time we can file that sort of a "first time" into the memory bank, it's a good day.
I remember the first time across the state line.
The first overnight motorcycle trip.
The first ten day motorcycle trip.
The first 600 mile day.
An insanely cold ride from New Orleans to Houston.
Good stuff.

First multi-day journey, me on my Lambretta, my buddy on his Harley 125, about 50 miles to the river, ferried across, and 10 more dirt road miles to a backwoods hunting cabin, with a single shot 22 rifle to live off the fat of the land. Ate some swamp cabbage and a robin cooked over an open fire. Rough and ready we were. Thank God for that left over can of beans.
Good Fortune!

You will laugh, even feel compelled to happily piss, in the face of cold (wind direction permitting).

I Know what you mean about going without having to pedal! I will forever remember the day I got my first moped running a (slightly modified) Yamaha QT50 I was given(and not told about the modifications). That thing did about 50, I was 15 and had never been on the road alone. The feeling of the 4 cyl acceleration of my KZ550 for the first time was a rush too though.
