Madison WI to Porcupine Mountain State Park was created by DoubleDub
I'm heading out in about half an hour to start my trip to the Porcupine Mountain State Park from the Madison, WI area. The trips looks to be about 650 miles round trip with a day in between the to/from to add some additional miles. We're packing a tent and sleeping bags and planning on braving the bears...
The route we're planning on taking is all two-lane state highways or smaller and follows this route, although it's always subject to change:
maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&ms...1b43de090db02c9f&z=7
Wish me luck - they had a frost advisory this morning up there...should be nice and crisp camping...

Ride was a great success! No major mechanical failures and having the "mule" as a second bike made my ride much more enjoyable.
We didn't get all the way up to Copper Harbor on the second day, voting to stop and take a long break for a movie at Houghton (sore ass syndrome, I believe it's called).
My seat foam is definitely not broken in yet, that's for sure.
My clutch is starting to slip worse until it gets warmed up so I'm not going to be riding anymore until I get that taken care of. I also need to check my float heights and go over the carbs once more as there was definitely a rich smell at lower speeds and I was only getting 35-37 mpg.
We found a great little area near Marenisco, MI with some fun little roads on it.
