Only had one taker, WABBMW (Bill) for a ride today so we had a nice ride around the Conroe, Tx area.
We rode 95 miles from Conroe, around and thru Willis, across Lake Conroe, Fueled up in Montgomery, then rode thru the Sam Houston National Forest to Richardson. Visited the local country store and had a burger & onion rings, then back to my place.
Just before Montgomery an old lady pulled out and got t-boned by an SUV just in front of us. Thank goodness I was using the SUV as a blocker
Then when going thru the Forest we came upon some buzzards snacking on some road kill in the middle of the road. One of the buzzards flew into the trees to my left - then as I was coming by at about 45mph he came flying out of the tree to cross the road and flew about 3 feet in front of me!!! I could almost have reached out and touched him. I am sure if I would have hit a full grown buzzard at 45mph I would have been knocked off my bike.
Then to top it off a bug got in my helmet and worked his way to my ear while I am running the twisties!!!! No place to pull over while he is buzzing in my ear. I had to get thru the twisties first to find a place to pull over, take my helmet off and get him out
It was a beautiful day for a ride with some pretty scenery. Pastures with ponds & livestock, Farmland, Small town squares, long bridges crossing lake Conroe and the National Forest. A little bit of everything.
