i dont know how many of you live in the south, but many of us that do are familiar with the natchez trace. it is a national historical highway that runs from natchez, ms to nashville, tn. its loaded with history from spanish and indian settlers from pre revelutionary war to present day. i personally find the most beautiful part to be around the tenn. line, in the foothills, either in spring when the dogwoods are blooming or fall as the leaves change colors. i cannot think of a more beautiful place to ride, and reccomend it to anyone.
also about midway through the trace there is a small burger joint/country store where ever kind of rider gathers called ratliff ferry (name of the store and location). the beer is usually cold the burgers are tasty and the women are hot. best times are afternoons on saturday and sunday.

Sounds like a ride for us next summer. I have gotten some riders up north together and perhaps we can all go when the weather is nicer here. I think that we could get together at least 20 guys to ride. I will check it out. A little late already for us to think about that ride but by the time it is good again perhaps I can talk a bunch of guys in to going with me.

The Trace is most excellent. Highly recommended. I rode it last spring; here is the report .

its definitely worth the trouble to go--even this time of year as the reds and auburns of the maples and oaks on a crisp, clear fall day leave you with an impression of Gods beautiful gift to humanity and a ride youll never forget.

My son and I often (3x/wk) ride the Loveless Motel(Nashville) - Leipers fork (highway 46) or down to highway 50 stretch of the Trace. We live about 10 miles off the Trace in Franklin. It's a beautiful ride. Worth the visit.

Done it twice, well worth it. Lots to see along the way, especially for history buffs. Natchez and Shilo are worth a day each.

Took a very pleasant ride on Saturday with my son and another regular riding buddy.

Started out at 7:30am from Franklin, Tn. W on 96 to 46, S on 46 through Liepers Fork to Natchez Trace. S on NT, W on 50 to Centerville, SW on 100 to Linden.

Came back E on 141/20 from Linden through Hoenwald back to NT and stopped at the Lewis & Clark park for 30 minutes. Then N back on NT and E on 96 back to Franklin.

About 160 miles. Well worth the ride.
