I'm shocked and stunned beyond belief that two of my forum favorites, Odd Ivar Bekkelund and Paul Ammerman, better known as Ibsen22000 and Sandracer, are gone. Working backwards, I read the news on Sandracer, and went looking for Ivar, who I always saw as the anchor around here, kinda like the ying to DanVVA yang.

And look what I found...

I'm stunned beyond words...and anybody here who remembers me from when I was a regular around here and recalls anything I ever did knows I am never at a loss for words.

Ivar and Sandracer, I will miss you. I'm particularly saddened to learn passing did not come gracefully and swiftly without struggling. I very much enjoyed the times we got into it here and in private email.

Thanks...just thanks...

Ditto what Dan said.
it really sucks to come back after so long to read that friends (even if only online friends) have passed before their time.

Godspeed Sandracer, will see you on the strip when i get there.

How you been these days Dan?

I remember my dad and Ivar going back forth all the time. That is truly bad news. I still remember that cat with the lime helmet, always brought a smile to my face.

I did not know them but I do feel good that people remember. I have an uncle that passed and another uncle that is passing soon. Both have been mentors in life and motorcycling. Remembering is the next best thing other than honoring them when they are here. Here's to your friends. Well lived!

Take it from me cuz I found
If you leave it then somebody else is bound,
To find that treasure, that moment of pleasure,
When yours, it could have been.

Again, some late night chats in KZR Chatroom with people back in the day, make me sad to see them gone. The "thoes were the days" come around too often.

Rest in peace Ivar you are missed. :(

Yup, sad to see riders pass on to the great beyond. Hopefully the curves are always gravel free where they are and gas is cheap. R.I.P.

I lost another friend from another site this weekend, and for some reason I've been thinking about Ivar today. He was one of the best friends I ever had, and it still hurts to know he's gone. Not really sure why, but I stopped in for the first time in a long time, then I see Paul is gone as well.
Dammit. I feel really old tonight...

I have not been on this site in a very long time, and I just now have heard this news. These gentlemen were fine people who were willing to share their knowledge without expectation of anything in return. I had the chance to spend an evening here in San Francisco with Paul, and found him to be the best of the best. I will remember them both, which is about the most I can do for anyone.
