We're considering an Edelweiss Alps tour spanning 8 days in 2025.

Riders are hosted at a nice hotel in Seefeld, Austria, very close to the border of Germany, and not much farther from Switzerland & Italy.  Seefeld is an Alpine town in the Austrian state of Tyrol.

The hotel is home base for the duration, with daily loops of 135-350 km, (84-217 miles) as desired.  No requirement to participate in any scheduled ride, and we have the freedom of exploring on our own if desired.  There also a pre-departure add-on day of 'Alps Touring' instruction that we'd certainly attend.

We'd two-up on one of Edelweiss' bikes.  Mostly BMW boxers, with a few F900's, a S100 and a couple 310's thrown in.

Looking for any members(s) reasonably local to, or familiar with, that general area of the EU who could offer advice on best time of year for good Ridin' weather.  Local customs.  Got'chas to avoid.  Must-see & must-do stuff.  Those kinds of things.

Any advice on & personal experience with international airline travel with Ridin' gear?

Our U.S. passports are current through 2028.

Good Ridin'

Hi Guys, I have driven through that region several times (in a car) travelling from the UK through Germany and Switzerland down into Italy. The scenery is breath taking and I'm sure you will love it. I will leave the local information to some of our members who are based closer to the region, with regards weather it is similar to the UK so I would suggest June - September being your best bet. Try to avoid last 2 weeks of July and August if you can as that is the main holiday period for schools and factories so the roads will be full of holiday travellers who don't always focus on the "driving" element. More and more UK holiday travellers are going by car these days so "be aware" of UK number plates as many of these guys have limited experience driving on "the other side of the road" so may do strange things. You could potentially throw in an "overnight" and see the lakes of northern Italy (Como, Gada etc) it's around 200mls each way from Seefeld. You will have a blast :)
