Chassisnumbers don't match was created by BertClicteur
So my new 1982 GPZ750 keeps surprising me.
I was dismantling and came across different numbers on chassis and engine.
Anyone who knows more about this stuff?
On the engine it says KZ750L and the number starts with KZ750EE
The frame however has KZ750R as beginning which should be correct?

Your frame and engine have matching numbers
The stamped stars on the frame vin are only on Italian market Kawasaki bikes.

I thought the GPZ was KZ750-R(the original colour was red)
Also you point to 2 different models in the list?

The KZ750 E3 engine number range ends at KZ750EE078049
So the 82 KZ750R model engine number range start is KZ750EE078050 -
82 KZ750R frame# range: KZR-000001 - 014500
83 KZ/Z750 L3 frame# range: KZR-014501 - 017200
84 KZ/Z750 L4 frame# range: KZR-017201 - ??????

Because the Zedder site didn´t have any frame or engine numbers to the 82 KZ750R but only for the 82 E3 .I thought the GPZ was KZ750-R(the original colour was red)

Thanks for the info.
I accidentally gave the engine number to customs.
I should've given the frame number, hopefully they won't mind.
