To the best of my knowledge the 76 z900 begins at Z1F 085701 and the frame being a 75 means it was built in the last part of 75 for sale in 76. A 76 z900 is still a very desirable bike by any standards.

Thank you!! This is going to be my Sanctuary Like no expense spared, spend it on an old bike instead of new bike build.

Are you starting with just a frame or a whole bike?

Then if you are going to go the route of a full restomod build then keep everything, the first thing you might be tempted to loose is the exhaust/passenger hangers, if you do keep your cuts neat and do not throw them away, try and keep the rest of the frame intact, that bike over here is fetching up to 15,000 euro and sometime down the line you might decide to bo back to stock, having everything tucked away will be a real bonus one day, you can believe me on that one.

According to zeder.com the frame number you posted would make it a 76 A4.

Being a big fan of the Kz900 A4-A5 I’d hate to see it cut up. I’d consider a functional mechanical update and sell it to fund your Sanctuary build

well ya use what ya have, they are selling bent up rusted frames for thousands around here, i am not as sentimental about history as i am thrifty and flat out cheap. No sense in buying something I already have.

At the end of the day its your bike your choice but the money will always be factor, how much you put in and how much you get out when the time comes...if it comes. There are loads of parts that bolt on and bolt off, it can be a costy affair but you will get the bike you want in the end but always have a plan B. That or start like i do from a frame up, that way there was never a bike there to begin with that could be saved and everything you do from that point is saving a frame for the scrap heap.
