I suggest any payments for goods or services be made through PayPal or other like payment sites. Insist on tracking not friend to to friend payments. If the fees are an issue cover them with your payment. 
I bought Case guards on FB and the seller insisted I send the money as a friend. I sent it as a sale so I would get a tracking number. I got two left hand sides even though the pic showed a right hand side on the bike they were coming off of. I got my money back a month later by PayPal due to the guy waiting to see what would happen. Even then the money was held up for two weeks. 
I never send money without a back up. 
Like I say, "You can't spit without hitting a scammer."
