1974: from 350 S2 to 400 S3
The 1974 edition saw the arrival of the 400 S3, an evolution of the 350 S2: the 400 S3 delivered only 42 HP at 7000 rpm (165 kg, 170 km / h) but it gained in reliability and flexibility. 'use.
However, Cup riders continue to use parts of the 350 S2 to optimize the performance of the new 400 S3.
As in the previous year, the drivers are divided into three qualifying groups (3 races per group).
The 45 finalists then compete for the final victory over 7 races.
Bernard Sailler wins in front:
- Hervé Guilleux (2nd, future GP driver)
- Michel Baloche (3rd, future official Motobécane 125 GP rider)
- Jacques Agopian (5th)
- Jean-Louis Albera (8th)
