Whereabouts did my Z900 come from? was created by bigclive
Recently bought a Z900 A4 (love it!). The DVLA say it was first registered June 1997, the seller said it was imported from the USA. The spec on the bike is totally UK/European so it must have come from somewhere other than the USA. How can I find out where it was first registered back in 1976? Really keen to assemble a full history of this iconic bike! Thanks for any assistance..

UK/European models has the Frame # on the right Hand side of the steering neck, US models Frame# like my bike are on the left side of the steering neck. I had to pay 20 Euro extra for the exception approval for the Registration in Germany in the mid 90th.

Lets see a picture of it. What is the frame and engine number? It could easily be a US bike restored to UK spec. Many are.

I'll get round to photos Warren3200gt but couple of things I've already noticed which aren't US spec: twin front discs, seat strap, longer rear mudguard, and European headlight (with "city light"). I realise some of these could be easily converted but changing the wiring for the headlight seems a little far-fetched. Bear in mind I'm brand new to older bikes so some of the restoration practices may well take me by surprise!

Posted this on the z1oc forum for you. Awaiting a response.
There's a new member having issues registering. He believes it is due to a gmail email address. Is this correct?
member is known as "Bigclive" on the KZ rider site and would like to join us.He is in the UK. He has apparently emailed the club and paid his dues to be a PUM but has had no response or ability to register? anyone know about this issue? or able to sort it for him?
Response from admin
It's the Gmail addy.
Site treats it as spam I think.
Clive do you have access to another email you could use?
