Hi fellow members,
I have a KZ1000P 1997 without windshield and fairing. I'm planning to add a windshield but would like to have just the windshield not the original fairing windshield.

I'm wondering if there's any option that you members would recommend. I don't know how to connect the windshield because the ones from Amazon requires to be fixed on the handlebar and not the fork. Those I believe are flimsy and not built to last.

Any suggestions for windshields, places to buy, hardware to connect to the fork?

I'm wondering if I get a windshield from a Honda Shadow (available to buy used) would fit and what type of hardware can I use to connect to the fork?

Any links, suggestions, ideas are very welcome as I can't locate any information for windshields for KZs originally with fairing instead the version from Chips TV show.

Thank you.

A small shield or flyscreen may only have room for handlebar mounts. I would check out the various windshield mfg websites to see what's available & what mounts there are. I know that SlipStreamer has some mounting kits that clamp to the handlebars & fork legs. I attached an old Emgo fairing to my 650 using a SS mounting kit. National Cycle is another brand, but I've never really investigated what they have. Both of those brands are listed all over eebbaayy.

SlipStreamer mounting kit #028 w handlebar & fork clamps. The #028 ikit s kind of universal fit as it's adjustable.

Here's a SlipStreamer SS-28 windshield that I test fitted but sold. The handlebars I had at the time interfered with the shield, so I didn't install it. I think the handlebars were Flanders Med Tall Street bars. The SS-28 also comes in clear & both probably use the #028 kit.
