Hey everyone knows loud pipes save lives, right?

I had to replace the pipes on my kz440, but I am a cheapskate. I used aluminum fence posts, and slipped a drilled, mashed hoover vacuum wand in. Works great, back pressure is fine, sounds "throaty". The picture below however is the previous pipes - shorties that sucked.

I ended up buying the Delkevic 4-1 with the megaphone. I'll let ya know how it sounds once the bike is up and running...

Don't have anything to say negative about mine. Been on over a year. Mean sound. Great exhaust.

The only thing I have to say about the Delkevic is that the bracket they supplied with the exhaust is not designed to fit with the LTD - even though I bought the LTD specific exhaust.

When the bracket is installed on the exhaust first, it doesn't like up with the rear footpeg. It's off by about an inch.


So the workaround that I did was I only screwed in one bolt of the bracket so that the second bolt hole is out in space. This seemed to work, but I was a bit disappointed that it didn't fit as designed.

Incorporating a miniature rubber "motor mount" with an easily fashioned hanger bracket will seriously reduce vibration transmitted from the muffler to the chassis, which makes the ride far more comfortable and relaxing.

You could use a piece of flat stock off the muffler to bolt up to the bracket properly.Capture both holes on muffler and bracket.

I also should have mentioned that with the Delkevic exhaust, the split collars do not fit around the headers. The header seems to be designed to remove the need for that part since the header has a larger diameter at the exhaust port. The exhaust came with with flange clamps that are not removable and they butt up against a feature on the header pipes as well. Seems like a smart design.
