I have been using Maxima 927 in my H1. Occasionally I'll start it up inside just to get the aroma.
My benches are wood topped but coated with either poly or spar varnish (it was 25 yrs ago) and have held up pretty well to gasoline, carb cleaner and other noxious chemicals.
The best thing to have in any shop is plenty of light. I've been converting to LEDs and now have 10 4-bulb fixtures with plans for two more. You should also paint the walls and ceiling with semi-gloss paint to discourage spiders and mold. It works...

Right now my shop smells like carb cleaner. I've started cleaning the first of three bikes in prep for next year. This one is my KZ1000.

I see your workshop is shaping up real nice!!!!

The cardboard box behind the bike in the second photo is full of pictures....mostly mines I've worked at. Once the bike is cleaned up and winterized I'll put them up along with a few more shelves for major parts storage.

Today the shop smells like old grease from my swingarm and old chain oil coming off the tranny cover.

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

My workshop is a work in progress.
Have been here about three months, and been transforming the garage into a man cave.
Built a loft and stairs, and moved storage up and away:

Here is my workshop. In fact nothing fancy except of the bikes I build there. Two workbenches: one for “clear works” like engine assembling and one for “all purposes”, some shelves with parts for projects, hardware and other useful things, some tools, a place to seat and stretch legs, diesel stove for cold weather and portable gas stove to brew the coffee.

The smell is usually mix of oil, kerosene, gasoline, carburettor cleaner and coffee.

My motorcycle workshop is currently my garage. Managed to fit a few bikes and a new KZ1100ltd project in the space. Currently smells of liquid wrench as some of the bolts on the project bike have been a bit stubborn.

Not much for organization but since it's not too big a space things don't stay lost for too long if I can't find them right away.

More to come for the ltd, on another thread of course.

Here's my Z1's "apartment" for the winter... my buddy's machine shop. Going to a rear disc brake and doing some clean up of different subsystems.
