Thornton's Vintage Bike Show - Madison, IN was created by slmjim+Z1BEBE
Second annual Thornton's Vintage Bike Show, Aug. 26, 11AM - 4PM
thorntoncycle.com/Page/Vintage-Bike-Show-2018
Mr. Thornton is a long-time VJMC member.
Outdoor show along the shady restored waterfront in Bicentennial Park at the intersection of Broadway & Vaughn. This is along the bank of the Ohio River in the old, historic part of downtown Madison, in the river valley. This wide, straight part of the river is where the yearly Madison Regatta is held early each July, featuring H-1 Unlimited and Grand Prix World Hydroplane races.
Peoples choice judging with trophies awarded.
Last year attendees rode or trailered in about 75 bikes from Ft. Wayne, Indy, Cinci, Evansville & Louisville. Weather permitting, this year looks to be even larger.
Registration & attendance are free. We can thank Mr. Thornton for that.
This is the first year for the swap meet.
Plenty of free parking for vehicles & trailers immediately adjacent to the show.
Fenced park playground for the kids, and the Madison Dog Park for the fur kids are at the show site in the park.
Food vendors plus a local-landmark, destination restaurant on barges moored to the riverbank only a block away. Good food at affordable prices.
Other eateries and a variety of small shops are a two-block walk away in the restored part of the "Old Town" if a significance other must have a widget or antique dust collector. Lots of history in this old river town.
slmjim & Z1BEBE will have two (yet to be determined) of their bikes there. Probably Z1's but, maybe their his & hers '93 CB750 Nighthawks.
Good Ridin'
