Seat can be swapped out with a non LTD seat . Off ebay / Z1 Ent / Corbin / others
Look up some of Les Holts LTD builds without LTD seats

I just read they get up to 160MPH. Is this accurate or a joke?

I hope I am if that is what you want the bike to be able to do.
160 MPH is really hauling the mail.
Ask Ralph Pitlock how fast he went at the Bonneville Salt Flats with his Z1R T/C He is member Paintworkz here on KZR Past Bike of the Month

I’d guess that was really somewhere around +125mph, maybe 130mph.
I’m really doubtful that there is any late 70’s KZ1000 out there that will hit a true 160mph.

Ralph went 147 MPH at the Ohio Mile running 7 1/2 pounds of boost with stock pistons. Riding his stock Z1R T/C
I run over 3 times that much boost when racing plus Nitrous with MTC Turbo pistons and a lot of other work done to make the motor live and hold the bike together.
