75 Z1B What's it worth? was created by GreggVA
Hope this is appropriate to ask here but looking to let my 75 Z1B go and don't have a good idea of the listing price. I have had the bike for 28 years and haven't ridden it for the last 20 or so though it did run and ride great the last time I did. It has sat with the carbs and tank cleaned and dry. It just needs a little work to get it back on the road. Would appreciate any input.

Thanks. Plan to list it on Sunday for considerably less.

Nowhere near 10k, too many non original parts. Seat, exhaust, wheels, rear shocks, rear indicators and paint scheme are just the obvious ones that leap out.

Agree! Anyone buying a non-runner has no way of really knowing if there are major problems with the engine, transmission, etc. without taking things apart, and doing that is not an option. Consequently, I suspect you would be hard pressed to find a buyer who isn’t going to lowball the price if the bike doesn’t run. That doesn’t mean things must be perfect, but it would be much easier to find a buyer who is willing to spend some bucks on the bike if it can be demonstrated that the bike runs ok. Ed

Guess I will see if I can find a little time to get it to run. The problem will then be if I can let it go once I hear it running again!!!

One tool to use is the EBay advanced search "completed listings" function for your bike. The prices shown in green are listings that actually sold. You have to be honest with yourself on condition to draw a valid comparison. A few very original or high quality restoration Z1B have reached the $10K mark. As Warren3200GT mentioned, your bike has quite a few non-original modifications that will cut that value in half. Non-running will reduce it even more.
