Good KZ 1300 Mechanic in California was created by KZLTD80
I have recently come in contact with an '80 KZ 1300. The bike uses oil and I suspect the top end needs attention--pistons and rings. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good shop in California that specializes in these old Kawasaki sixes? I am willing to transport the bike if a good shop is out of my immediate area. If you have any recommendations, please send them my way.
Many thanks is advance for your advice-
Bill

This guy has good reviews www.yelp.com/biz/vintage-motorcycle-repair-san-francisco-6

You might want to join B.A.R.F. Bay area riders forum, Great folks that ride all kinds of bikes and are very helpful, they would be able to point you in the right direction

Thank you for the link and suggestion--I plan on contacting him and looking into BARF.
I am fairly particular about the quality of work that needs to go into this bike--and locating the correct parts needed for the repair. I have found many don't want the job of locating the parts (pistons/rings/gasket kit etc), so that may fall on me to dig around provide the right pieces. The gentleman noted in the link seems like he may be a good fit--will look into it.
Thx again-
