1974 kz400?

Hey All,

I searched kz400 and also here on the forum, looking to verify a model year. Frame # k4-025764 - The picture isnt the best I think it was manufactured in 6/74. Can anyone verify this is indeed a 74 kz400 ? Thanks for any info

Your frame number appears to be for a 1975 KZ400-D2 model. Take a look at the link below. The 1975 KZ400-D2 Frame Numbers began with number K4-013800. The 1976 KZ400-D3 Frame Numbers began with number K4-044601. So your Frame Number, K4-025764, would be in the 1975 KZ400-D2 model range. It’s possible that it was built in 1974 but as a 1975 model since production of bike models always begins the year preceding the model year. Ed

Ive been searching for a 74 z400 for a while now...I think I found a frankenstein...74 motor on a 75 frame. Can anyone verify/help? Motor # k4e-0371 frame # k4-035813
