I sold the 1982 KZ1000, I want to run the 1980 model, I have located a 1977 KZ1000, just double checking. Does the parts from the 1977 mount the same to the 1980. I need engine and all the wire harnesses from the 1977 to mount onto the 1980 frame. Thanks for all the help

Should be vey close if not the same, The 77 would have come with points-the 80 would have been electronic ignition but physically everything else should be the same. As long as you're swapping the whole motor-if you try to do the cylinders onto the existing bottom end I suspect you are going to find your upper case half has been machined to accept the oversize liners for the big bore kit.

I am planning to use the whole motor. If it still has points I can get electronic ignition parts for it. Just want to make sure the motor mounts are the same.

As you can see, the bike I'm trying to get back on the road has been sitting a while. I just want to ride it for now.

Yes, the 1977 and 1980 KZ1000 engines should have the same mounts. It should go right in. It's interesting that your engine serial number says it's an 80, but looking at the pictures, all of the covers are from a 77/78.
The wiring harness might be harder to adapt. I don't know how much changed between 77 and 80, but I'm certain there were changes (regulator/rectifier, electronic ignition, etc). I think they also removed the central harness connector block. But the frames were basically unchanged from 77 to 80, so if you really just take the whole thing, along with the brackets and stuff, and move it from one bike to the other, it's likely to just work.
What does the harness on the '80 look like? Is it all hacked up?
What kind of ignition is on the '80 now?
If you swap the entire '77 harness, you might want to replace the points with a Dyna S ignition. They are easy to install and work well.
