That is an original z1. The easiest way to tell the difference is the turn signals.

Ok, this is more like what it will be.

Not air cooled unfortunately.

But possibly supercharged.... OK I'm still in.

This may be the first bike to make me reach into my wallet since the ZRX. I'm fine with water-cooled. Higher compression, no worries in stop and go traffic about over heating. I love my KZs and that will never change, but if I'm going to throw down on a modern bike water cooled is going to be part of the equation.

I couldn't handle that dipfrick looking seat. Looks like what guys do that ruin old bikes to make misguided cafe racers. It could be a nice bike otherwise. Just extend the back to normal kind of like the Z1, and put on a seat kind of normal like a Z1. I'm fine with the engine. Yamaha did the same thing last couple years with an old XS1100 looking retro in 900cc I believe, but that stupid seat and rear ruins that one as well. Style "in" now is stupid on the rear. Look at all the roadrace replicas riding around that they *all* take off the rear fender and stick the plate 2 foot up under the seat? I'm not interested in the least, but wish them luck. All the guys that got out a hack saw and cut off the back of the frame of the old KZ and H2 ect that we all laughed at apparently now design new bikes.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

.....and who is it at the design center that said every bike must now have gold anodized forks? They look so out of place on that (and many other) bike(s). Ed

I'm not following. The license plate is completely behind the rear tire, on a chrome fender, in as close to a traditional position as I've seen in quite a while. You are paying $10K for a bike, spend $350 to get the seat customized to your liking. I'm not suggesting you should like the bike, everyone's tastes are different as they should be. But this isn't some angular Transformer bug bike.

A Matt stated, that is the original they put in the ad as a reference. The first time, I thought the same when trying to get a better look. Got excited for a second. Here is the shot they included of the new bike. Can't imagine how you could have missed it, LOL.

I like it. I would do some mods. Exhaust. Superbike bars andRear fender fabrication. I am disappointed they aren't following through with the air cooled concept though
