Kz750 ltd shaft drive was created by Desjardins
Hey everybody! Just wondering if I could get some clarification on a specific model of Katz I have! The bike is 1983 kz750 ltd shaft drive. The ownership says 1984 but from what I have researched 83 was the only year they produced this bike?( is this correct?) an also on the vin of the chassis it says 12/83 so December of 1983 was the manufacturing date! I'm so confused an this is my first motorcycle ever so I wanna learn everything I possible can cause I don't ever wanna get rid of this gem!

12/83 production = 84 model year
If you are in the USA then your bike is most likely a ZN700 A1 model. Check the parts fishe... www.partzilla.com/parts/search/Kawasaki/...ycle/1984/parts.html

USA model = ZN700-A1 ... 0.694 L? because of Harley tariffs in the USA.
Canada = ZN750-A1 ..... 0.738 L cast into the cylinder block
I don't think the Canadian models had the Kawasaki clean air system, so the valve cover doesn't have the ports on top.
The carburetor jetting won't be as lean as the earlier US 750s and the speedo is in kms. and other than the displacement, it's probably pretty much identical to the US model.
Manual. If you need a manual, search eebbaayy for KZ750 shaft manual & get one that covers at least 1984. Kawasaki factory service manuals have a model application chart on the back cover, so make sure your bike is included on the list. some sellers include a photo of the back cover.
