Go to www.kz400.com
On the left-hand side of the page, scroll down to and click on Manual
On the right-hand side, scroll down to where you see
KZ440 Workshop Manual
A workshop manual for the following 440 models can be downloaded from here or here.
Click on the 2nd "here" (the 1st "here" produces an error message).
Takes a few moments to download the FSM.
Good Fortune!
EDIT -- Oops. Checking for KZ400 FSM.
I don't see a single click to download a KZ400 service manual.
Would suggest -- Keep scrolling and poking around through the Contents pages and multiple individual thumbnail pages from the service manuals, which can be clicked to enlarge for reading on-screen.

eBay would be your best bet for a used 2 into 2 exhaust. Mine has the stock headers with the cans cut off (by the PO) and MAC replacement mufflers. Works and looks OK.

I don't know and haven't researched which if any KZ440 models may have had stock 4>1 exhaust systems.

One notable exception was Denco, and I'm uncertain about Bassani and other likely now obsolescent brands.
Am guessing right hand exit is desirable to avoid the chain mess which quickly accumulates on left-side versions.
