Purist Paint?

Is there a problem painting an otherwise stock bike a completely radical, or non-stock color? I tend to be a stock purist when or where possible but I always did like that Stardust metallic silver... hmmm[/quote]
So? What color are you painting the body parts? I'm sure your not building a ten point concourse show bike.
Pick a color and spray. some hand pinstripes , some vinyl graphics.

!Seymore wrote: Interesting bluej58... So, those are the original side covers and tail? (just askin' man...) I only ask because ALL the side covers I've seen have "Made in Japan" on them. But I also DON'T have any titles with a "5" as that first # in the VIN. Just askin' & learnin'...
Yes , those are the originals, now off the bike, but I found new/old parts from the same year and that is what is on the bike now.
All say MADE IN USA

Weren't the 77 KZ1000A1's, at least some of them, built in Japan? what does it say on the headstock label, the one on my 77 KZ650B1 says made in Japan. The "Z" bikes going to Britain, Europe etc. were built in Japan, so it seems they were making identical panels in either country, at the same point in time.
