I found an outlet for them on ebay and can get any size 630 rear for my Morris mags for around 60(ish). That's where I ordered my 34T. It was goldish in color and really lightweight and supposedly aircraft grade aluminum. So far so good. We'll see how long it lasts. I'm checking through past emails so I can remember who it was so I can see if they can get them in 530 versions also. I'll give you an update when I find out who it was if U wish. $$.

Well the Morris rotors were designed with more than 6 holes and can thus be bolted to Enkei wheels 4 bolt design. But not vice-versa lol. Figure that one out. I will post some pics comparing the 2 when available if anyone cares to see the differences.

I had a hard time finding a 530 sprocket for my 76 LTD Morris mag a couple of yrs. ago I got the chain & front sprocket from Z1E. Z1E. ended up giving me a couple of phone #s to call & the only place that had one was Sprocket Specialists & It cost me 109.00 with tax & shipping,...OUCH, that hurt
Pete

That was a 530 I got from Sprocket Specialists

Got to give my bike a run today, my fears about the gearing being too high turned out to be unfounded, it runs great. I could feel it get pretty light on the front when I got to about 4000 rpm, in 1st and second even though I was trying to ride gently, because I was conscious that with all the work I'd recently done on the bike, that it needed a test ride to bed things in and make sure there there were no errors or problems that could cause a mishap. It felt a little high on take off in first initially, but then around where I live, almost every time you come to a stop sign it seems you are pulling away on a particularly steep hill, which exaggerates the issue. I'd been working on lubing my clutch cable, since that seemed to have not been lubricated since it left the factory, as the lube worked in further, it made pulling away much better, it was the none progressive release of the clutch making it judder slightly, rahter than a power or gearing issue.

So all in I'm delighted with my 530 chain and sprockets and love my switch to the 18" rear it would have been built with. I also like my Shinko 230 Tourmaster tires, even not broken in they have a lot of grip and now with by dual discs up front I have something approaching reasonably modern braking standards - it was great to ride it and feel really impressed with how every thing was working together. I'll try a longer run a little later, can't wait for next summer that thing is FUN, to ride :)

I didn't realize that about Morris wheels, I take it they don't use the Kawasaki sprocket carrier like the Lester wheels? If I had to have wheels I wanted to change, I'm glad mine had Lester not Morris mags or it sounds like I'd have been looking for even more parts. It makes me feel good that my rear sprocket only cost $31.20 with free shipping :)

Awesome to hear your maiden voyage went A-okay. If you ever did change wheels, Kawasaki's Enkei wheels of that era (pics attached) would be your best choice for ease of change. They look awesome handle awesome and no mods are needed. The Morris sprocket carriers do not interchange. This set of Enkei's still have the "rideable condition" 'factory' Goodyear Eagle's mounted to them. Keep up the good work Hawk!...............Mike

That's what I have on mine now, except the rear is a Police Enkei, picture below.

As it came with the Lesters, 16" rear, LTD headlight bracket, Abe Bread box filter etc. I wanted the A model, bought the A model, so by golly it's going to look like an A model :)

My second ride was great, but my speedo cable broke after a few minutes :( However I was able to get on some more open road and had her up to 4k in 5th which should be about 68 mph from my calculations. I certainly wouldn't want my gearing to be lower, it seems what I was aiming for, it still has reasonable pull and now cruises without feeling so frantic.

Love the chain Hawk...My gold(ish) rear sprocket would pair quite nicely with it. Although it's a 34T-630 on my '76 Morris wheel, I just emailed the Ebay outfit I recently ordered it from to see if they can get them in 530 versions also, and am currently awaiting their reply, as I'l be going to the 530 setup on my other '76 900LTD build. It is very lightweight aircraft grade aluminum. I was quite surprised at how lightweight it is, especially being solid in design...(and only around $63 shipped). I'll keep ya updated as to what I find out. I can PM ya their Ebay store name if you wish. I don't know if you've ever used (or even care for) the serrated flange nuts that mount it to the carrier, but it is a much cleaner look than the standard fold up lock tabs, and I've never had one come loose yet in many thousands of miles of use on various bikes.

Awesome look. I wld PM you this but I can't add pics to PM's for some reason. Your 'A' model is quite interesting, as I have an **OEM** ebony black 'near perfect' 3-piece body set WITH the tail tray (minus the tank) that I've been trying to find a good home for. It wld be awesome for someone that had a tank and wanted to get the decals and have a tank finished to match the body set. As nice as yours is, it looks like no more than decals and a clearcoat wld suffice to complete the set. Is yours a LTD style tank or standard? Feel free to PM me if you care for any more info on it. Great look Hawk, keep up the good work!..................Mike

My tank got switched to a LTD on at some stage, so it's on my list to find an A tank at some point, prices are currently so crazy for crappy tanks, I'd rather spend $300 on a replica Z1 tank, than pay $200+ for a dubious looking tank that may or may not rust through or need coating from the outset. I don't mind the look of the LTD tank too much, but find it too narrow for my knees to "hug" it, either way I'd like to have the original available.

The 630 rear sprocket I just took off mine turned out to be aluminum. There are companies with every color you can imagine in Aluminum 530 sprockets on eBay.

Feel free to PM me about your parts, now I've seen some pics, so we don't takeover and misdirect the thread.

Thanks for the suggestions, I currently have, a lead on an "A" tank. if that doesn't work out I'll give that a go. I cannot believe what some people think KZ parts are worth these days and the asking prices for used parts in general.

I used z1 530 chain for 76 kz and by George u flip a Zuki rim over, use the brake side to mount the sprocket, no spacer up front either, and can u tell the difference from a 530? without a shred of doubt, or a cushion drive, it's much faster. And now the r6 cbr6, zx636, fact know it. It's time to believe.
