I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.

Yes I talked to the owner, the tank is not from a Z1, as the emblem holes are 140mm apart, and the tail striping is different, they were to be shipped overseas years ago and got held up in customs, however it could be a factory replacement tank, or it was repainted many years ago . It has been sitting for many years at the warehouse of the Canadian distributor of the Ducatis from Italy. I was going to purchase but I am in shortage of funds, so I thought that maybe someone here might want to get them. I still have his name and phone number if you need it.

The tank is a 76 or later. Definitely not a Z1 tank. The Z1 tanks had the weld seams on the inside where the frame tunnel is formed. This tank has them on the outside. That started with the KZ's. It's still not a bad price. Just so you understand what you're really buying.

They are still for sale. I passed after I inspected some other pictures.
Real nice Guy "Marcel" Tank and & KZ style tail were repainted a 3rd time.
Marcel even offered to meet me 1/2 way in Canada.
Original paint Z1 right side cover was cut off at top. Must have lost the nice paint job with the later emblem.
Tail was stripped with chemical stripper for this paint job.
Tank had white sealer in it and was on a bike used.
Still look nice. Paint a set of 76 KZ900 rear drum brake side covers "Ford" has "Bronze Fire Metallic" New car paint, you could camera scan, get a close match. You could trick people thinking its a early Z1.
I checked into the paint with my paint guy. Tri-stage
I was just looking to flip them.
