Whoa, what a find....KV100 was created by SmokyOwl
So I went for a 100 mile round trip today, and we planned on stopping by the Harley dealership for a rest stop. As we're coming up to it like a block away was a Kawasaki dealership, the first one I've laid eyes on. Looked closed, so we went to the HD dealership for about 20 minutes of bordem, then we went back for a lookie-see at the Kawi dealership. Turns out they were actually open. So I walk in and see a small assortment of bikes, a late victory, late crotchrocket Kawasaki....then a 79' KZ1000 (poor condition w/fairing)...a 78' KZ900 in the corner collecting dust with cardboard leaning on it (but in very good condition, it was the owners bike that he never rides) and in the corner something shiny...very shiny...and very small.

It was a KV100, from the 70s, I forgot what year the owner said. The owner told it's story as his father had purchased it....and just never rode it. The speedometer showed it just barely rolling on 1 mile....!?!?!?! WHAAAAAAAT! The original stickers were still on it.....this was as mint as it gets in my mind. From the demeanor of the owner, I'd imagine that this current owner's father had initially owned the store, and now the son really didn't have as much fever for Kawasaki motorcycles as his father did. The place was dark inside, no overhead lights on (why I thought it was closed driving by) he turned on the lights for me to take a pic of the bike.

This thing doesn't belong in this shop, it belongs in a museum or something. Anybody have any idea of what it's worth?

I kinda feel sorry for it. It needs to tear up some dirt trails at least once!

That is one of those rare, mythical stories you hear of, but never actually can confirm. That thing is a museum piece. I never even heard of a KV100!

The store is pretty much all but closed; he had a rack of maybe 25 tires tops, a single sided 8' by 6' aisle wall of pegboard with like 10 things hangin' off it (gloves, handlegrips, etc), a high shelf of 8-10 helmets, I think there was a dozen or so jackets, not sure. A lot of oil, spray cans, and treatment stuff on some shelves. The place was the single saddest store I've ever been to. I think their workshop is the only thing keeping it alive right now, the place looked more like a place for storage than a store.

Well I'm dangerously short on funds right now (and don't have the space for it), but in "excellent" condition it's supposedly worth $1,600. If I were to make an offer, I think it'd be somewhere between $2,000 and $3,000. And that's saying I don't even know if the guy would sell it, as it may have sentimental value as well.

If there are any serious buyers for it in the meantime that are interested in making it a museum piece, please reply or private message me for the exact location (in Wisconsin).

Sounds like someone needs to make an offer on the store.

So that's what mine is supposed to look like! I have a 1976 kv100 I've been attempting to restore while I've been trying to get my kz550 in line, what's cool about the kv100 is they weren't around the U.S. Much, they were in Canada and New Zealand as agriculture bikes, which is why the seat is so wide it was supposed to hold a shovel, the similar bike is the g4tr and after it was a kv it became the ke, pain to find parts for on eBay !
