Like mission said, but I say HELL NO !!!
you don't want the supplement, just a genuine Kawasaki service, or workshop manual , and to find out what year & model bike you have , you can go to the Z1 E, website to check your motor & frame vin. #s, or you can post them on here, & some one will let you know
Pete

So make sure you check your vin. # 's first , so you get the specific year & model manual,& don't waist your money on a Clymers or Haynes manual, they are too generic

Pete herein lies the problem. All I have is the motor number KZT00AE 066652. The frame tag on the stearing head has been remover and the bike titled. The title states the year as 1981. The make of vehicle as ASSEMBLED. And the VIN states MICH81***. That's why I have posted Pics here and reached out to the experts in this forum for help. I transferred the title into my name in 1989. So what ever it is its mine now legelly but I'd like to do the best i can at figuring out just what it is so I can get the right parts.

Thank you Pete,

Would it be a good assumption that I can identify this as being a 78 LTD 1000?

Is the tank color shown in the picture considered Cardinal Red?

Is there any place on the frame where either the VIN number or partial VIN number is stamped?

Agree. Unfortunately he mentioned a different number had been stamped into the frame, so I guess the guy who stole the bike wiped out the original, valid frame number. Ed

I'm not sure I'm ready to take the leap that it was stolen. I remember that the guy i bought it from had several bikes in his garage, Some complete and others damaged. But Ed is correct all but KZT0 has been removed from the steering head. Then the new assigned number from Michigan is stamped on the right side.

I suggested the bike was stolen at some point because I cannot think of any other reason someone would file off the bike's frame number. Maybe someone can enlighten me with one? Ed
