New Month , New Bike of the Month !!!
Welcome to Tyler Curran as our September BOTM !!!!
Tylers bike is our 1rst KZ1300 to be featured since BOTM was resurrected.
He purchased the bike for 800 Dollars and had to go thru the whole resto process to create this beauty.
Parts are scarce and time is valuable so this project took 5 years. Tyler started the project in college and single and finished graduated as a engineer , Married and has children so lots of action has been going on in this young mans life.
Tyler has been into bikes since he was 6 yr old on a Yamaha and the passion has grown ever since.
The 1300 motor needed pistons and headwork . Larry C helped out by doing his magic and Tyler did all the
motor and bike building his self
The KZ had sat for about 20 years so lots of TLC was needed to bring her back to life. Tyler has a 9 page build thread on KZR so look it up and follow the progress.
Welcome to being our September 2017 BOTM Buddy !!!!!!!!!!!

Nice bike! The thing I always loved about the 1300 is the sound. Engine is so understressed too. Very cool!

Thanks all,

This wasn't a project I was looking for, word came to me about a guy that had a 1300, and I just wanted to see one in person. I bought it knowing there was going to be some serious work involved. Not the "cool" stuff like performance parts and trick wheels, just the boring everyday parts were going to be a challenge. The engine in this these really is something special, and beautifully made. If you ever have the opportunity to drive one, don't pass it up.

Dave,

Thanks for keeping BOTM alive and well. Always nice to see so many great motorcycles proudly displayed on the front page.

Keep up the good work man!
If I knew what I was doing all the time life wouldn't be any fun.

'80 KZ650 E 700cc, dyna ignition and coils, frame up restoration, daily driver
'81 KZ1300 A3 full restoration, custom big bore pistons, 1400cc 6 cylinder super bike
"77 KZ650 B1 - Barn Find, work in progeress
"74 Yamaha DT 400 Enduro
